Poland EMA Website Under Reconstruction

The Poland EMA Website continues to undergo reconstruction in an effort to keep you up to date in the world of Emergency Management in Poland, Maine. With the current threats affecting the town, updating of the site has been limited. Please bear with us during this transition period.

Poland EMA Acquires Information Sharing Technology

The Poland EMA has acquired DMIS Software, as part of the Federal Government's E-government initiative. DMIS or Disaster Management Interoperability Service will be used to develop a Collabrative Operating Group or COG, that can allow information to be shared among the various emergency services and municipal officials. This new capability will be developed over the coming months.

Avian Flu Pandemic Stilll A Possibility

The H5N1 Virus or "Bird Flu" Pandemic is still considered a potential threat to the town. Information on this is available at Pandemicflu.gov

Town's Basic Emergency Operations Plan Undergoing Revision

The Town's Basic Emergency Operations Plan is currently undergoing a revision, and is expected to be presented to the Selectmen in September 2006. The plan was created in 1994, and since that time, the town has grown considerably. Much of the revision relates to minor changes to population figures.
